Spencer Izard
Researcher and Advisor

Spencer is a Researcher and Advisor for Leading Edge Forum. Prior to joining the LEF, his most recent roles were with ServiceNow, as their executive strategy advisor for UK&I, and at Ovum as the Chief Analyst leading their global CxO practice. Prior to Ovum, he led IDC’s European CxO advisory practice and also headed up their European retail group.

Spencer has previously worked at several large international end-user organizations, both directly and indirectly, within CIO strategy and architecture functions developing and delivering IT strategies to bridge business demands and IT capability, creating and managing architecture teams, and establishing IT best practices.

Whilst working at Marks & Spencer he introduced enterprise architecture, IT harmonization, and cloud strategies. Prior to that, Spencer worked for three years at Microsoft providing strategic CxO advisory focused on business and IT engagement, building high performing IT functions, the identification of new technology trends for business objectives, and enterprise architecture across retail, financial, energy, and public sectors.

His engagements had a particular focus on enterprise applications, cloud computing, mobility, and data driven middleware, both from internal employee and external customer/partner perspectives. Before Microsoft, Spencer spent over six years at BP as a global architecture manager among other roles, which also involved introducing middleware, mobility, and virtualization technologies.

Spencer holds a BSc in Computing Science from Staffordshire University.
