Executive Dinner

Tech Ethics & the Future Regulatory Environment

Please join us for this Executive Roundtable and Dinner, hosted by Lord Knight of Weymouth, at the House of Lords on 18 February 2020. Lord Jim Knight was a panellist on LEF’s recent Ethical Digital Study Tour, sharing insights on this important topic as both policymaker and legislator.

The discussion will focus on the future of policy, funding models and regulatory approaches for technology in the UK, and will address economic, ethical and social implications of advances in artificial intelligence. In addition to Lord Knight, we will be joined by other parliamentarians from the Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence that published the 2018 paper AI in the UK: Ready, Willing & Able?

Participants will enhance their understanding of ethical frameworks and the impact of proposed regulatory policy, and in particular will be afforded some early insights that are shaping the new Policy Paper due for publication by the new Democracy & Digital Technologies Select Committee in 2020.
